Cirencester, known as "The Capital of the Cotswolds" is situated in
the county of Gloucestershire in England, with a Population in excess of 19,000
it is an historic Roman town with attractions from a Roman Ampitheatre to the
nearby Chedworth Roman Villa. The Corinium Museum is an important source of
information on the local history. Many people ask how you pronounce
Cirencester. It is pronounced 'Si ren ses ter'
Cirencester has a unique blend of shops
from large chain stores including Next, Argos, W.H. Smiths and Woolworths to
the many independent run stores, such as Concord Foto Centre, that have a
presence in the town.
Even though it
is situated in the heart of the Cotswolds directly on the A417, it still enjoys
a relatively central position, with London, to the East, only 90 minutes away
via the M4 motorway, Birmingham to the North is 75 minutes away, and Cornwall
only 2 hours down the M5.
